Email Infrastructure Upgrade: Batched logging speed boosts

Mailbaby has recently overhauled our mail logging and processing systems. These technical changes translate directly into better performance and more reliable delivery for your business.

What Actually Changed?

In the past, every time an email was sent or received, our system had to talk directly to a massive database to record every detail of that event. While this worked for years there were areas that could bottleneck somtimes. It gets the job done, but the line moves more slowly during busy hours.

We have now introduced a High-Speed Buffer System using Dragonflydb. Instead of waiting for the big database to finish its “paperwork,” our mail servers now “drop” the log into a super-fast, temporary storage area and immediately move on to the next email. A separate, automated process then handles the database entry in the background.

Why is it so much faster?

The secret is Asynchronous Processing. By separating the act of “sending the mail” from the act of “recording the log,” we have removed the wait times that used to slow down our mail queues.

• Memory vs. Disk: Our new buffer lives in the server’s RAM (memory), which is thousands of times faster than traditional database storage.
• No More Waiting in Line: Our mail servers no longer have to wait for a database to say “Okay, I saved it” before sending the next message. They just fire and forget.
• Batch Processing: Instead of performing 1,000 tiny, individual database tasks, our system now handles one large, efficient batch every minute. This is much easier on the hardware and prevents system “lag.”
